   Who Was Javed Iqbal?

  • Born: 1956, Lahore, Pakistan

  • He belonged to a wealthy family but was known to be an isolated and troubled child.

  • He ran a small computer business in Lahore.

  • Often lured children from poor families by offering them money, food, or small gifts.

  • Later claimed that his actions were motivated by his own childhood trauma and feelings of revenge against society.

   The Horrifying Crimes

  • Javed Iqbal specifically targeted runaway and homeless boys between the ages of 6 and 16.

  • He would lure them to his house, strangle them, and then dispose of their bodies.

  • To erase evidence, he dissolved the corpses in acid-filled barrels and kept their clothes, shoes, and personal belongings as “souvenirs.”

  • He meticulously documented each murder in a handwritten diary, listing names, dates, and details.

    The Shocking Confession

  • In December 1999, Javed Iqbal sent a letter to police officials and a local newspaper.

  • In the letter, he wrote:
“I have killed 100 children. I am surrendering myself, and all the proof is in my house.”

  • When police raided his home, they discovered acid containers, children’s belongings, and detailed records of the killings.

    Trial and Verdict

  • Javed Iqbal and his two accomplices were arrested in Lahore.

  • In 2000, the court sentenced him to 100 death sentences – one for each murder.

  • The judge famously declared:
“He should be strangled 100 times and his body cut into 100 pieces, dissolved in acid just like his victims.”

  • Although such a punishment was legally impossible to carry out, the sentence reflected the sheer horror of his crimes.

    Mysterious Death in Prison

  • In 2001, before his execution could be carried out, Javed Iqbal was found dead in his prison cell.

  • Official reports claimed it was a suicide by hanging.

  • However, many believe he was murdered inside prison, and his death remains a subject of speculation and conspiracy theories.

Conclusion

The case of Javed Iqbal stands as a chilling reminder of how society’s most vulnerable – poor and homeless children – can fall prey to unimaginable evil. His crimes raised serious questions about law enforcement, child protection, and the justice system in Pakistan.

Even today, Javed Iqbal’s story continues to haunt Pakistan as one of the most terrifying real crime cases in the country’s history.
